The Siren, 1900
Sirens were beautiful women who lured men to their deaths with sweet singing. They were often described as a combination of a woman and a bird, and can be found in Homer's The Odyssey. In art they have been depicted as a cross between woman and bird. Later, they were depicted just as women or sometimes as mermaids, as you can see here.
